Official Rules · 2026
November 12–15, 2026 · St. Thomas More, 48th & Grover · Boys & Girls, 3rd–8th Grade. By registering, each team acknowledges it has read and agrees to abide by these rules.
Gameplay Format
▸Half court, double elimination.
▸Two (2) ten-minute halves with a running clock until the final minute of each half.
▸If the defense secures a rebound or steal, the ball must be taken back behind the three-point line before attempting to score.
▸Overtime is one (1) minute with a stopped clock. If still tied, sudden death.
▸A coin toss determines possession in sudden death.
▸Holding the ball for more than five (5) seconds on the inbound results in a turnover.
▸Players must arrive at least 15 minutes early for games.
Mercy Rule
▸If a team leads by thirty (30) points or more, that team is declared the winner. Scorekeeping stops and both teams play out the remainder of the game.
Timeouts
▸One (1) 60-second timeout per team, per half.
▸Overtime: one (1) 30-second timeout per team.
▸No timeouts during sudden death.
Fouls
▸A player who commits three (3) personal fouls in a half is removed for the remainder of that half, and is eligible to return the following half.
▸A player removed for a half is eligible to return for overtime. In sudden death, one (1) additional foul removes the player from the game.
▸On a shooting foul, the fouled player shoots one (1) free throw worth the value of the original shot attempt.
▸After five (5) team fouls, the opposing team is awarded a one-and-one free-throw chance.
Championship Game
▸If the undefeated team loses in the championship, a ten (10) minute half is played to determine the winner. Each player is allowed two (2) personal fouls in that half. If tied, fouls carry over and sudden death determines the winner.
Roster & Player Eligibility
▸Each roster must include a minimum of one (1) Omaha Catholic School student. Teams in violation are removed without refund.
▸Teams must roster a minimum of three (3) players. Four (4) players are strongly recommended.
▸If a team drops to two (2) players due to a foul-out or injury, play continues and the game is not forfeited. The opposing team is not required to remove a player and will continue with three (3).
▸Players must roster and compete with only one (1) team for the entire tournament.
▸Players MUST have numbered jerseys.
▸No adult coaches are permitted; each team must designate an adult contact person.
Conduct & Authority
▸Fighting results in immediate ejection and the team will not receive a refund.
▸The Tournament Organizer has final authority on all rulings and disputes.

▸$100 per team.
▸Early Bird pricing of $90 per team runs through October 1, 2026.
▸By registering, each team acknowledges that it has read and agrees to abide by these rules.

This tournament runs on volunteers.
Every shift covered means a smooth tournament experience for players, families, and the STM community. The 3v3 is our biggest fundraiser — proceeds support St. Thomas More Athletics.
🚪 Admissions / Door
Collect admission fees, hand out wristbands, manage the door. Friendly face for families and visiting schools.

Set up courts, chairs, scoring tables, signage, and concessions before Thursday. Breakdown and clean up Sunday evening after finals.

Grades 3 through 8, boys and girls. Player-run teams, half court, double elimination. St. Thomas More's own tournament, hosted at the STM gym, 48th & Grover.
State law applies to every youth program in Nebraska. A signed parent information form is required before a player participates, and coaches must complete training before the first practice. Forms come from your own school or parish office — each keeps its own copies on file.
